Recap of the Week

This week has had its ups and downs. For a moment, it looked like I was going to have a temporary job. It’s still up in the air, but I’m doubtful it will work out. I would have been sanding doors at Peterson Woodworks where I know some of the people who work there, namely Mike and the boss, who know a little bit about my problems when it comes to my ability to work. So it would be a great situation for me to be able to work, gain some experience, have a little extra money to survive, and doing a simple task that I think I could do. But they have since reconsidered hiring a temp and are thinking of either hiring someone more permanent with more experience, or buying the doors already made from another source, which is what they used to do.

However, I still have been working. My parents are remodeling their house. With the exception of the kitchen, every floor is being replaced, and the bathrooms are being completely re-done with new tubs, tile in the shower, tile on the floor, light fixtures, cabinets, countertops, etc. Jason, who does carpet for a living, is re-carpeting the entire house by himself. And Mike is handling the cabinets with Peterson’s, and doing the tiles, because his dad runs a flooring business. The rest of us guys are helping where we can, moving furniture and getting rid of the old stuff. Other than hiring a plumber, the family is doing all of this alone.

Here are some pictures. We’ll post more when it’s finished, but here are some with us helping take out the old downstairs carpet, and hauling out the old bathroom tiles (and wall), bucket by bucket.



In other news, Jenn is extremely sick AGAIN! In fact, she’s worse now than she was last time. If everyone could keep her in your prayers, it would be appreciated. We need her to get well, at least before Thanksgiving. This also means the comic for this week hasn’t been finished, but hopefully you can expect two again next week.
